God is Love

God is love
Escrito por Padre Juan Manuel Rodríguez de la Rosa

´´God is charity: and he that abideth in charity, abideth in God, and God in him. (1 Jn 4:16)

When a Buddhist, or a Muslim, or a Jew or a Catholic say that they believe in love, do they believe in the same thing? Do they all agree the same? Do they have the same understanding of love? Is it the same meaning which is given to the word love? If God is love, then who believe in love believe in God. But, what God does the Buddhist, or the Jewish or the Muslim or the Catholic believes in? Obviously not in the same God, there is no doubt about it. Everyone agrees on that. Consequently, we do not all believe in the same Love, in the same way as we don’t believe in the same God. And you, in which God do you believe?

You see the Trinity if you see love, St. Augustine wrote. My dear Buddhist, Muslim or Jewish friend: Do you believe in the Holy Trinity? The answer is no. Then you do not believe in Love. For God is Love, One and Triune.

What a beautiful dialogue to teach the true Love, the true Love of God, One and Triune, which is revealed through Jesus Christ to you who are Buddhist, to you who are Jewish and to you who are Muslim!

Because Our Lord Jesus Christ is God, He is the only King and the only Saviour of mankind. This is my Catholic, Apostolic and Roman faith, a faith that the tradition of my Holy Mother Church has given to me. There is no God but Jesus Christ; besides Him there is only confusion and lies and death. Because He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. If He is the Way, any other path is confusion. If He is the Truth out of Him there is nothing else than lies. If He is Life, out of Him there is nothing else than death.

If Jesus Christ is the Way, there can be no other way than Him, because then we would say that Jesus Christ is just another way of many. If Jesus Christ is the Truth, there can be no other truth besides Him, because then we would say that Jesus Christ is as much of truth as others. If Jesus is Life, there can be no life out of Him, because then we would say that there is life in Jesus Christ as there is in others.

If Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and therefore the Love, can I learn something outside Him? If so, God would be imperfect. It would not be Almighty, Almighty, without beginning or end, Creator of Heaven and Earth. It would be an impaired-God. If someone could teach me something about love that I wouldn’t know already by the teaching of Jesus Christ, then I would be talking about a god that would be completing what is missing of Jesus Christ.

Whoever has known the love of God revealed in Jesus Christ, can anyone shut him up? Whoever has known the love of God through the Holy Passion of Our Lord, would not he be wanting to proclaim it loudly to those who do not know it? Is there any love bigger and more perfect than that of our Lord Jesus Christ when He was nailed to the Cross? Can you live the Love elsewhere rather than Calvary? After living Calvary every day in every Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, could someone from any other belief tell me what Love is?

Merciful as the Father

So reads the motto of the Jubilee of Mercy. God the Father Almighty had mercy on this servant because He made me son of the Holy Mother Church through Holy Baptism. And not being enough this great grace, He had the Mercy of electing me to the priesthood. If God the Father has been so merciful to me, how will I not be the same with others? Therefore, I say to you who are Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist… that the only God is Triune, is the Most Holy Trinity and is the God of Jesus Christ, because of the mercy of God the Father, which is in my heart, compels me to do so. You must know this, for God is love.

You, who read these lines, perhaps brother priest or faithful, have you experienced the embrace of the Father? Are we aware of Him? When God the Father embraces us we can never forget that embrace, because the embrace remains and is maintained over time. Not the carnal embrace. It is the embrace of the Holy Trinity. It is the embrace of the Father, the embrace of the Son, the embrace of the Holy Spirit. It is the embrace that lifts the soul out of this world; is the embrace that transforms the soul in such a way that it can no longer live without the feeling of the real tenderness of God, One and Triune; is a burning desire for purity and holiness.

Will I silence the effects of this embrace? And you’re going to silence it? Am I not going to proclaim that God is One and Triune and that there is no other God? Are you not going to proclaim the same truth? Have you truly felt the embrace of God the Father? If so, then you cannot silence it!

To you who are Buddhist, who are Jewish, who are Muslim, who are Protestant… I would like to let you know in friendly dialogue that Love is Jesus Christ nailed to the Cross. There is no greater love, because there is no other God besides Him. Do not expect the Messiah, because he has come is Jesus Christ. You say that you believe in God, that God is Triune. You, that believe in Jesus Christ, He is the One who is only offered in every Catholic altar in Holy Sacrifice.

What a beautiful dialogue with those who do not believe in the true God: Believe in Love, in the Love of Jesus Christ, because He is the Love. God is love. You must know Him. If you know Him then you will love Him. He is everything, because He is Love, He is Mercy.

I talk to you with you to let you know that you have not yet found Love. Jesus Christ, true God and true man, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified for the salvation of all men, raised, and sent us His Holy Spirit and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. He is Love, He is the One true God. Believe in Him.

The world will achieve peace if it surrenders to my Mercy.

There is not peace in dialogue: this is a thing of the world that refuses to recognize the Light that has come to it; the peace is in that light that the world rejects, and because it rejects it, there is war.

Hail Mary, the most pure!
